It was a doozy of a storm- the kind that leaves little Hybrid cars spinning out on the slightest incline on their way home. The kind that washes out stifling, dirty air and leaves in its wake a clean slate of fresh frosty air. It was a beautiful storm.
This was just too good! To leave untouched snow untouched.
After the Littles were fast asleep, and late in the night Chris and I put on our hats, mittens and boots and under the bright moonlight, went trudging through pristine pathways. We walked silently and were just together, breathing that fresh air. Renewed.
The most magical part of the night? That we were not the only ones with this idea! Squealing like kids under the moon, we two couples soaked up precious time while sledding and talking together. What fun to be able to let go for a moment in our crazy lives.
Saying goodbye to Sarah and Robbie, we walked and walked. We talked and talked. We held hands. We held each other. And it was perfect.
I stared out in awe across the glowing city and Tracy Chapman sang in my head,
"the city lights lay out before us/and your arm felt nice wrapped 'round my shoulder"

That was fun to read. Good for you guys!
